Vincent Desjardins, Illustrator
Vincent Desjardins is a freelance children’s book illustrator who not only loves drawing and painting but also loves to make things. Having become enamored with surface patterns, he designs his own fabrics and has recently begun a new line of stuffed toy/pillows of cute animals, including a new line of desktop and pocket size toys. Other new items that utilize his surface pattern designs are a line of kitchen tea towels, infinity scarves, and fabric-covered switch plate covers. These are all in addition to his regular line of prints, cards, bookmarks and fabric Christmas ornaments.
Tracy Smoll is the owner and sole creator of smollthings, a paper and clay studio. She creates animal illustrations and transfers them to her hand-thrown pottery. Each piece is unique with a mix of improvisational drawing, splatter glazing, etching, and drawing.
Candice Hartsough McDonald started her career as a small child making friendship bracelets that she sold from her handmade catalog, and tracing the drawings out of her children’s books trying to pass them off as her own. Today she is a freelance illustrator who has actually drawn the pictures in a few published children’s books (she swears she did them all by herself), and sells prints and personalized portraits at shows and through her online shop. She considers herself to be a master at creating Amazing Cute Animals You’d Want To Snuggle, but has also honed her ability to draw people after creating close to 130 Personal Family Portraits for people across the world. She works primarily in watercolor and graphite, but has a special love for colored pencil and embroidery.
