Before Show Day
Vendor Map
Plan ahead for your day (and let your friends know where to find you!) by checking out the vendor map at the bottom of this page.
Booth spaces are 10’x10’ - please be a kind and courteous neighbor and stay within your marked lines!
Social media
Keep sharing the event on your socials! Use #bhmsummer ahead of the show. RSVP to our Facebook event and invite your friends!
Swag Bags
As always, we are giving away 50 swag bags full of vendor and sponsor goodies to the first 50 shoppers in line at the BHM merch booth when the show begins. If you’d like to donate a small something to these bags (a little sample sized item, coupon, or postcard is great!) please get those to Gather (116 N Walnut St, Bloomington IN 47404) by May 31.
Don’t forget to bring…

Don’t forget to bring…
- Tent and weights - at least 40 lbs per leg is wise! Even a breeze kicking up just the right way can quickly cause a lot of damage to people and items if tents aren’t weighted. If your tent does not have sufficient weights, we will ask you to take the tent down. (Don't make us do this - the sun is no joke!) No tent stakes are allowed on the courthouse lawn due to the sprinkler system. See the infographic at the bottom of this page for more helpful hints.
- Sunscreen, extra water and a cooler, sunglasses, a lovely sun hat, cooling rags, a battery powered fan, snacks - all the things to stay cool and safe in summer heat!
- An extra change of clothes in case you get hot and sweaty during setup
- All the tables, chairs, displays, table coverings, and plenty of products!
- Fully charged credit card readers, change/cash box, and any extra backup batteries you may need (there’s no electricity or wifi available at booths)
- Business cards, price tags, booth signage with your business name, etc
- All the other random goodies that prove useful at shows - pens, zip ties, safety pins, tape, scissors…
show day!!
Checking in
Vendors can arrive for setup at 7:30am. PLEASE do not arrive early as we will have to mark most booth spaces that morning, and early arrivals will slow us down.
Before you start setting up, find Chelsea or Talia at the BHM merch booth on the courthouse lawn (the purple star on the vendor map) to let us know you’re there and to pick up your name tag, info sheet, and any other last-minute details we need to pass along. We may have last-minute map updates, so checking in first is helpful!
Unloading
Check the map for your booth space and find a street parking spot nearby to unload your things. Cars will not be allowed on Kirkwood or 6th for unloading - College and Walnut will be your best options to get close to your booth. (Please note that these are one-ways - Walnut traffic goes north and College goes south.)
DO NOT stop your car in the traffic lanes to unload! These are busy streets and stopping in the road is not safe or allowed.
You must be set up and ready to go when the event starts at 10am - however, with a morning farmer’s market nearby, there may be shoppers wandering around early!
Parking
There are several parking options in downtown Bloomington! Please pay close attention to one way streets as you drive around.
Street parking downtown shouldn’t be hard to come by early in the morning to unload. Meters are enforced from 8am - 9pm.
Garage parking is available at three parking garages within a couple blocks of the show area - see the parking garage map below. Feel free to move your car to a garage after you unload to leave more street spots for shoppers (psst... garages are also shaded AND cheaper than meters!)
Food and Drinks
Beverages: We strongly advise bringing a little cooler with plenty of extra water, gatorade, etc. - Indiana summer days can get pretty toasty and staying hydrated is crucial to a successful day! We will have some water available for vendors, but please bring your own extras to be safe.
Breakfast: Grab complimentary coffee and bagels for vendors at the BHM merch booth starting around 8am!
Lunch: The lunch you selected when paying your booth fee will be delivered to you by our lovely volunteers starting around noon. Please be patient as they deliver to over 100 booths! If you didn’t order a lunch or want something extra, we will have some food trucks near the corner of Kirkwood and Walnut. We’re also surrounded by restaurants!
Dinner: there are tons of great local restaurants downtown if you want to grab dinner before you head out. Feel free to ask any of our organizers or fellow local vendors for their favorites if you would like suggestions!
Restrooms
Restroom facilities are available for vendors all around the show area (and are mostly marked on the vendor map):
Booth Sitters
Need a quick break to use the restroom or grab a snack? Booth sitters are available! We’ll be wandering the show throughout the day to check on everyone. If you don’t see a volunteer or organizer when you need us, just text your business name and booth number to our volunteer coordinator Pixie (812-369-9735) and someone will come watch over your things while you’re away.
Keep in mind booth sitters will not make sales for you - they just keep an eye on your booth until you return.
Packing Up
The show ends at 4pm - DO NOT pack up before 4! This is rude and disruptive to other vendors and sends a message to shoppers that it’s time to leave. Packing up early without a valid reason AND an organizer’s permission will likely mean you won’t be invited back to a future market.
Stick around after the show for Granfalloon Festival’s free concert just a couple blocks up Kirkwood Avenue (The Linda Lindas and Sleater-Kinney this year!)
