A special shout-out to our friends at Rainbow Bakery - Bloomington's only vegan bakery - often with gluten free options!! Fun things about Rainbow are their to-die-for muffins (pumpkin ginger especially), their sense of style (have you seen their hanging plant wall?!), their awesome gallery wall which changes every First Friday in conjunction with Gallery Walk, and their yummy yummy custom cakes!! Our favorite thing about Rainbow: well, it's a tie btwn their obsession with Twin Peaks and those AWESOME cinnamon rolls pictured!!

Crazy Horse Food & Drink Emporium is a bar with a great atmosphere. Housed in a building that was originally constructed in the 1880s, Crazy Horse takes pride in the rich history and tradition steeped within the walls. The menu features classic American food like yummy burgers, steaks, and salads, and tasty appetizers to share. What really makes Crazy Horse shine is their huge selection of beer. They are known for their Around the World in Eighty Beers club, where you can try out the 80 different domestic, imported and micro-brew beers, and get your name inscribed on a plaque for your efforts. So head on over to Crazy Horse, located at 214 W. Kirkwood in downtown Bloomington, to try a new beer, eat some delicious food, and have a good time. BHM is having a post-market celebration at Crazy Horse on Saturday night after our market event closes! Drop by to say hello and gush about the awesome new handmade items you acquired at the market! In Case of Emergency Press is a print shop that doubles as a fine art studio. Run by Jarod Isenbarger, the Bloomington-based shop specializes in t-shirts, album packaging, posters, and art prints. All of their goods are screen-printed by hand, and specialty print orders, like wooden boxes or one-sided vinyl, are encouraged. The shop's services are regularly used by bands, record labels, and other artists - so chances are you've seen their work while walking around downtown. Be sure to check out their amazing portfolio here, and keep In Case of Emergency Press in mind for all of your printing needs! Gathering is a pop-up shop that promotes local and regional artists in the Bloomington area and beyond. It came out of the success of the Bloomington Creatives Collective, which was formed by Conduit Press artist Talia Halliday. Gathering currently holds quarterly events that have a specific theme or motif, and coming soon, a month-long pop-up shopping event that will take place November 23 through December 24. So get your holiday gift list ready, and remember to buy handmade and buy local at Gathering!
Pizza X, with five locations in Bloomington and Ellettsville, is a popular local pizza joint that makes a variety of delicious pies. In addition to traditional pizza toppings, Pizza X offers their own unique specialty flavors, including Italian Stallion, Popeye, Chicken Pizzadilla, and Alfredo Delight. Their pizzas are made by hand from scratch and can be brought right to your door. Pizza X also has a commitment to greater sustainability and community-sourced ingredients that draws a large following. What started as an IU undergrad’s goal to bring better pizza to Bloomington, became a successful enterprise that has been serving tasty pies to the community for three decades. Brandon McDonald, the talented man behind Brandon with Glasses, is a graphic designer based out of the east side of Indianapolis. His expertise has provided many entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofits with new logos, print pieces, and websites (he even helped us very grateful folks at BHM with a new logo!). As a small business, he prefers to work with other small businesses, and provides the personal service required to maintain strong designer-client relationships. He also creates some of his own artwork, that you can check out at his Etsy
shop. Oh, and he’s got a sense of humor. If our glowing words have somehow not convinced you that he is right for your graphic design needs, peruse the work on his website - and then give the man a call. A.Z. Vintage, located at 236 N. Morton Street, carries all kinds of fun merchandise from vintage furniture and housewares to men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. The shop specializes in mid-century modern pieces, but items from the 1940s - 1980s are included too. A.Z. Vintage was a dream turned into reality for owner Alison Zook, who has had a love of vintage treasures from a young age. As her personal vintage collection grew and grew, she realized she could share the joy the pieces bring with others by opening up her own space. The shop
opened in April of last year, bringing vintage awesomeness to Bloomington and beyond. The Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District, a.k.a. BEAD, is made up of galleries, shops, restaurants, hotels, live music, performing arts, and parks in 10 distinct districts that all make the downtown area unique. As a project of the City of Bloomington and an official Indiana Cultural District, BEAD brings businesses and creatives together to promote development, community, commerce, and culture. You can take a walk on the B-line Trail, grab a bite on Restaurant Row, see a play in the Show District, check out a new artist at one of the many galleries, and so much more on one of the 60 blocks that make up BEAD. So if you aren’t a resident of our fabulous city, come on over and “Experience what makes Bloomington, Bloomington.” But we’ve gotta warn you: you may not want to leave. The recently opened Rainbow Bakery is Bloomington's first all vegan bakery. We're so glad they're here. With scrumptious treats like fall-flavored donuts (oh yes, that includes pumpkin), beautifully decorated cupcakes and cakes, and so much more, even non-vegans will fall in love with this place. Gluten-free? They've got you covered. Both vegan and gluten-free goods come in all kinds of creative flavor varieties like lavender, chai latte, licorice, chocolate peanut butter, green tea, and lots more. Not only are the flavors fun, the shop itself has a cool and quirky vibe that will quickly make it your new favorite place to hangout, study, or catch-up with your donut-loving friends. Rainbow Bakery is located at 201 S. Rogers Street.
