The Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District, a.k.a. BEAD, is made up of galleries, shops, restaurants, hotels, live music, performing arts, and parks in 10 distinct districts that all make the downtown area unique. As a project of the City of Bloomington and an official Indiana Cultural District, BEAD brings businesses and creatives together to promote development, community, commerce, and culture. You can take a walk on the B-line Trail, grab a bite on Restaurant Row, see a play in the Show District, check out a new artist at one of the many galleries, and so much more on one of the 60 blocks that make up BEAD. So if you aren’t a resident of our fabulous city, come on over and “Experience what makes Bloomington, Bloomington.” But we’ve gotta warn you: you may not want to leave.

Dickinson Kitchenware: Dickinson Kitchenware is a small family business that uses locally harvested hardwoods to create kitchenware that is both appealing and completely functional. They use only hand techniques and power tools, no CNC machines or lasers, to create each of their kitchenware pieces. Every piece is sanded then oiled in a food safe oil and are ready for use! Jodi Lynn's Emporium of Doodles: Jodi Lynn is an illustrator from Metro Detroit. Born and raised in Michigan she finds much of her inspiration from exploring the outdoors and learning about science. November 9th is coming up fast. These four vendors have got you covered from head to toe and wherever else! From left to right:
Stinkybomb Soap: Stinkybomb Soap takes iconic shapes and turns them into ironic soap, using hand-cast novelty molds. While their name might imply stinky, their soaps are pleasant in scent. 1UP Gallery: 1UP Gallery loves upcycling! They take old, broken video game controllers, consoles, and game cartridges doomed for the landfill, and create charming accessories Sunday Afternoon Housewife: The woman behind Sunday Afternoon Housewife is a self-taught jewelry maker and silk-screen artist from Indianapolis, IN. Her show consists of creating Scrabble tile pendants and silk-screen tees from original designs under her own clothing label, Indie Loves Indy. Wholly Craft!: Wholly Craft is a small shop in Columbus, Ohio that features handmade goods from over 200 crafters and artists. The wide variety of goods includes clothing, accessories, paper goods, housewares, fine art prints, and much more. In addition to the storefront, Wholly Craft represents selected artists at fairs and events throughout the Midwest. Less than a month until you can shop 'til you drop at our event on November 9th! The recently opened Rainbow Bakery is Bloomington's first all vegan bakery. We're so glad they're here. With scrumptious treats like fall-flavored donuts (oh yes, that includes pumpkin), beautifully decorated cupcakes and cakes, and so much more, even non-vegans will fall in love with this place. Gluten-free? They've got you covered. Both vegan and gluten-free goods come in all kinds of creative flavor varieties like lavender, chai latte, licorice, chocolate peanut butter, green tea, and lots more. Not only are the flavors fun, the shop itself has a cool and quirky vibe that will quickly make it your new favorite place to hangout, study, or catch-up with your donut-loving friends. Rainbow Bakery is located at 201 S. Rogers Street.
